TropiNutri joins Afro Meet: bringing African and Caribbean flavours to everyday nutrition
· Afro Meet · 👁 24
Eating better while keeping the flavours of home: that is the belief behind TropiNutri. The platform, dedicated to African and Caribbean nutrition, joins Afro Meet as a sponsor.
Founded by Carole TCHANY, TropiNutri supports people who want to organise their meals, understand what they eat and develop new habits while preserving their culinary identity.
To celebrate this partnership, the Afro Meet community can enjoy one month free on Premium or Premium+ with the code AFROMEET.

Carole TCHANY, founder of TropiNutri
A cybersecurity engineer by training, Carole TCHANY is also an entrepreneur. Passionate about nutrition and celebrating African food culture, she is currently training to become a nutrition coach to deepen her knowledge.
The idea for TropiNutri came from her own experience: she wanted to lose weight while continuing to eat African food. She found it difficult to access guidance that reflected the dishes she enjoyed.
As she searched for solutions, she realised that many people from African and Caribbean communities faced the same question: how can you change your eating habits without leaving your cuisine behind?

Developing new habits while keeping your food traditions
For Carole, the aim is to help culinary traditions evolve.
Rice, plantain, cassava, foutou, mafé and colombo can remain part of everyday meals. The approach focuses on understanding portions, ingredients and cooking methods to make more informed choices when preparing food.
TropiNutri places nutrition education at the centre of its mission. It aims to help people understand their food and share that knowledge within their families.
Carole's ambition is to establish TropiNutri as a leading platform for African and Caribbean nutrition while helping users take pride in their cuisine.
Who is TropiNutri for?
The platform primarily serves African and Caribbean communities and people across the diaspora. It also welcomes anyone interested in discovering these cuisines.
Its audience includes:
- People who want to lose weight, build muscle or simply eat better.
- Families who want to pass on their food traditions while developing new habits.
- People in the diaspora looking for familiar dishes and ingredients.
- People with limited time to plan their meals.
- Sports enthusiasts who want to combine nutrition and physical activity.
Available in French and English, TropiNutri initially focuses on France and European countries with African and Caribbean communities, with ambitions to expand internationally.
Features designed for everyday life
Plan your weekly meals
TropiNutri offers personalised menus based on the goals, needs and culinary preferences users provide.
The aim is to make it easier to decide what to cook and organise meals in advance. A shopping list supports that planning.
Explore familiar dishes and understand portions
The platform presents adapted African and Caribbean recipes, with proportions and cooking methods designed to support a more balanced diet.
Food weights, serving sizes and nutritional information provide reference points to help users understand what goes into their meals.

Analyse meals using a photo
The meal photo scanner provides an estimate of the calories and macronutrients on a plate.
Alongside nutritional information and food tracking, this tool aims to make meal composition easier to understand. Results from photo analysis remain estimates.

Stay active, find ingredients and connect with others
TropiNutri also presents exercise videos for different ability levels, a tool for locating nearby African and Caribbean grocery stores, and a community where users can share experiences and encourage one another.
These features complement the platform's meal planning and support services.
Human support that understands culinary habits
TropiNutri works with Jenifer, an EPM consultant and nutrition coach whose approach focuses on mindful and intentional eating within African food culture.
She supports women and men who want to develop their eating habits while keeping the flavours and traditions that matter to them.
This human element gives users the option of direct conversations and support alongside the digital tools.
